What kind of music do you like?
Pops? Rock? Jazz? Classical Music?

KOUSCH loves music very much and produces T-shirts of various music design,
especially instruments and classical music.

Here, we introduce those products.

Sax Session

Many people are attracted by this instrument invented by Adolphe Sax, the Belgian instrument maker.
Being categorized as a woodwind instruments,
Saxophones are usually made of brass and colored with lacquers.
Famous Saxophone players are for example John Coltrane, Sam Rivers, Pharoah Sanders and Ornette Coleman
in Jazz music.
Saxophones are also used in classical music such as Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin,
Bolero by Maurice Ravel, etc.
KOUSCH deformed this beautiful instrument for the graphic design of T-shirt.
Drawn with mosaic pattern and keys are colored with vivid yellow green.

Audiophiles

How we feel about music represents ourselves.
According to the book “This Is Your Brain on Music: The Science of a Human Obsession”,
59% of people find others more attractive if they liked and listened the same music.
And not only music, but the audio system itself have been attracting
many people.
There are audiophiles all over the world.
In Japan, there are cafes especially focusing on audio systems.
For example, “Mignon” in Ogikubo Tokyo,
they play classical music with TANNOY GRF as speaker system,
LUXMAN L-570 as pre-amplifier,  ortofon SPU Classic GE for a cartridge,
SME 3010 R for tone arm and THORENS TD321-2 for turning table.
Guests listen to the sound sitting on chairs and sofas settled towards the audio system.

KOUSCH introduced a graphic design T-shirt putting the audio system and autophiles into the limelight.
The graphic of audio system is on the back.
Lots of parts are gathered and consists a complex system.

Pour le Piano

“Pour le Piano” (For the piano) is the title of  Claude Debussy’s suite for solo piano, published in 1901.
The suite consists of “Prélude”, “Sarabande” and “Toccata” and named as Debussy’s fist mature piano work.

Piano was invented by Bartolomeo Cristofori in Italy around 1700.
In the keyboard of modern pianos there are 88 black and whit keys.
There are many designs inspired by this beautiful row of black and white,
but KOUSCH arranged the design with red and white pattern.
Also, reflecting image of keyboards on the wall of the piano are expressed with yellow lines.

Okapia Johnstoni Playing the Bass

The bass or double bass is used in a various genres of music such as jazz, blues, or tango,
on the above of classical music.
The role of the bass is to play lowest part which is very important for the harmony and also for the rhythm of the whole music.

Okapi (Okapia Johnstoni) is the animal with beautiful colors of skin and is called as “the forest giraffe”.
This unique animal is originally from Congo, Africa and we can see in zoos around the world including
Ueno zoo and Zoorasia in Japan.
Recently, a new born Okapi baby in the London zoo was named Megan.
The original colors of Okapi is brown, black and white, but in the print of this T-shirts,
the colors are red, yellow and white.

The combination of beautiful Okapi and bass is very unique and attracts many people.

Beethoven

I guess many of people who like classical music also like Beethoven.
I myself am one of them.
Although, I did not really  understand how he was great,
I at least liked his Piano Sonata no. 23 in F minor, op. 57 “Appassionata” when I was young.
And after long time I knew classical music, my impression on him changed to admiration.

The portrait of Beethoven is used for this T-shirt.
Unique points of the design are, one, that you cannot see the Beethoven picture very clearly as the color of T-shirt is very dark.
Another point is the hair of Beethoven consists of music notes.
Enjoy humor of the design.
